Hamilton, Ontario

Chains Cut is a Concept Gallery and Studio, in Hamilton, Ontario. It’s directed by Chains, a transdisciplinary artist practicing critical theory, fine craft and digital art as a form of socio-ecological activism. Both the Cut and Chains exist to provoke thoughtful conversation and ideation in an effort to solve humanity's greatest challenges: late-capitalism, mental health, truth and equality.

You are invited to pop by 124 James St. South at any time you see the front gate open, or during scheduled events and programs. Chains operates within a dialectic framework—meaning that feedback, criticism, ideas and opportunities are encouraged.

Acknowledgment

Chains Cut and Chains art practice are situated upon the traditional territories of the Erie, Neutral, Huron-Wendat, Haudenosaunee and Mississaugas. This land is covered by the Dish With One Spoon Wampum Belt Covenant, which was an agreement between the Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabek to share and care for the resources around the Great Lakes. We further acknowledge that this land is covered by the Between the Lakes Purchase, 1792, between the Crown and the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation.

In Addition, Chains would like to acknowledge all residents of Hamilton. With appreciation for those that have built community from the ground up, enduring times of disparity and change. Thank you, for creating a culture to join and contribute to.
