Side Tribe reDenim

$1,300.00

Size 30 Waist Men’s Vintage Gap Jeans, Reconstructed

Exact Measurements: Waist 15.5”, Leg Length 40”, Inside Leg Seam 31”, Leg Opening 8”, Thigh 10.5”.

Made from vintage Gap jeans (circa 2010) sourced from Deja Vu in Hamilton, Ontario. All branding removed, and logo embossed button closure was scratched out with a metal nail. Side seams opened—by hand with a stitch-ripper—than finished with a Japanese sashiko embroidery method (along left and right side seams).

Tribal designs drawn by hand, then traced and cut from vintage jeans. The original pair was from 10 Corso Como in Milano, Italy. It was part of the Wrangler x 10 Corso Como capsule collection, which was purchased over 10-years ago. The jeans were well-worn by the artist, and now, repurposed for this design.

Each tribal panel is attached to the side seams of the base denim, and temporarily fixed with non-toxic white school glue. They are permanently attached by hand with durable coated-cotton thread.

The back patch features the artists manifesto and explains the relationship between the wearer, and the known-history of the garment and it’s future.

Price is proportion to the laborious production, and includes shipping to anywhere in the world.
